Side Character Status

Evie Walker has long know she’s the side character in the movies that are her friend’s lives. She’s the dependable one, the one who will say just about anything, and the one who will look after everyone else. Far from being upset about her circumstances, Evie has taken to this like a fish to water, reveling in the chance to center other people’s needs before her own. But after her best friend gets married, and she finds herself forming a new friendship with someone she meets unexpectedly, she’ll have to start questioning whether she belongs in the main character role after all.

Owen Becker has always taken everything a little too seriously. Just about everyone thinks so, from his family to his friends. So, when he meets Evie, he finds it hard to believe he can get along so well with someone who seems not to take anything serious at all. Except, it soon becomes clear that he might have judged her a little too quickly, which in turn makes him question how seriously he wants to take their relationship. Now if he can just avoid the bad advice from his friends, he might get the chance to have the one person who might know him better than anyone.
